The 2023 Season is in Full Swing

The 2023 Season is in Full Swing

The 2023 Season is in Full Swing

Field Journal

Friends,

Our season is in full swing!  2023 has been busy until now and the calendar shows many more groups traveling until the end of the year.  Col. Dennis Behrens, Russell Selle, and I have been very busy exploring new opportunities around the world.

Kenya.  Our classic Kenya photographic safaris are often labeled as the best trip we offer.  Our Kenya team offers exceptional exclusive Hemingway-era style tented camps and outstanding service.  Our most recent group had the great fortune to enjoy multiple encounters with African wild dogs!  Wild dog sightings are not a common occurrence.  For those that have not experienced Kenya’s great wildlife, sweeping landscapes, and fascinating cultures, it is a must!

Hunting Africa.  To date, our outfitters in South Africa, Namibia, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe have provided great hunting safaris…and no doubt more to come.

Argentina.  Our 2023 dove-only and mixed-bag hunt reports have been excellent.  This is due to our superb partners (outfitters) in Argentina.  We work with the best shooting lodges in the country.  In April the Colonel (at my request) scouted lodges and shooting fields in the Tucuman Province.  He reported first-rate lodges and very high-volume shooting.  In April 2024, I will travel with a group to the area.  Our March, April, and June Patagonia red stag hunts were a fantastic success too.

From now until the year end, our folks will travel throughout Alaska and the Lower 48, Canada, Mexico, Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil, Tanzania, Mozambique, Botswana, and Spain.  Our New Zealand outfitters are now at season’s end.  NZ hunts never fail to provide great experiences.

Please let us know if plan to hunt, fish, or adventure travel in 2024 and 2025.  We’d enjoy helping with a trip.  Our amazing worldwide partners fill their calendars far in advance, so it is always better to plan sooner than later.

Gordie’s Book

“There are some things I knew about Gordie White before I read his book…and one important thing I did not know. I knew that he was not only an experienced hunter, but a passionate, with a genuine love for wild places and wild creatures. I knew that he’d been brought up as a hunter, and that this is, essentially, his life as well as his hobby, both his avocation and vocation. It’s my chronological misfortune to consider him young, but he’s filled his years with a tremendous amount of experience, from Canada to Africa and back again, with multiple stops in between. I knew these things because we’ve shared African campfires together…and I knew one thing more: Gordie White is one of the good guys, honest, self-deprecating, not given to the shameless self-promotion that, in this era of mass communication without accountability, turns inexperienced ‘wanna-be’s’ into self-proclaimed gurus. But there was one important thing that I did not know about Gordie White: The man can write! Although I’m sure there are more, there are two things that make a book like this worthy of reading. First, the writer must have a genuine story to tell. Second, he must be able to tell it. Gordie White passes both tests, and has given us a great story, worth telling and worth reading.”
